A man in a wheelchair was attacked outside the Hannaford market Monday in an apparent search for drugs.
Chief Jeff Trafton said the man escaped the attack. Police have a suspect, he said, but no arrest had been made as of Monday afternoon.
The chief said the man was believed to have a prescription for methadone, which the attacker wanted. He did not identify the man who was assaulted. No serious injuries were reported.
