Residents who shop at Hannaford or Edwards supermarket can help Waldo County Triad to improve the safety of residents age 50 and older.

Triad sells cards that are good for any merchandise at Hannaford or Edwards stores. Triad receives five percent of the value of each card sold. The cards cost $25 each and can be redeemed for that amount at any Hannaford or Edwards store.

Waldo County Triad is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the safety of people age 50 or over. The group offers services to help emergency responders to locate a home quickly, a daily call-in program, 911 cell phones, outdated and unwanted medication disposal, warm winter clothing, a newsletter on current scams and how to avoid them, and educational programs on avoiding identity theft.

Anyone interested in helping Waldo County Triad while buying items from Hannaford or Edwards can purchase the cards at Spectrum Generations on Merriam Road in Belfast. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 338-2062.
