Michael K. Mitchell Sr.

Michael K. Mitchell Sr., 53, died Dec. 4, 2010, in Swanville.

He was born in Rockville, Conn., Oct. 30, 1957, a son of Carleton and Edna (Maloon) Mitchell. He was a U.S. Marine veteran who enjoyed fishing, hunting and target shooting. He enjoyed watching New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots.

He was predeceased by his mother.

He is survived by his father, Carleton Mitchell, and his wife, Debra, of Swanville; four children, Gina Mitchell of Rockville, Conn., Michael Mitchell Jr. of Ellsworth, Carleton Mitchell of Ellsworth and Melissa Mitchell of Connecticut; siblings Donna Kamienski and her husband, Frank, of Swanville, Dianne Fairbrother of Vernon, Conn., and Steven Mitchell of Florida; a stepsister, Paulette Desveaux, of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
