Earl C. Hamilton, 94, of Bundick Lake, La., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, in a Lake Charles hospital.

Mr. Hamilton was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Islesboro, where he graduated high school. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, retiring as a master sergeant. Mr. Hamilton lived in Lake Charles, La., for 25 years, before moving to Bundick Lake, La., in 1992. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. His passion in life was traveling and seeing the world. He also enjoyed fishing and collecting coins from the different places that he visited. He will always be remembered as the rock in his family and will be missed greatly.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his sons, Brian Hamilton and his wife, Becky, and Bruce Hamilton and his wife, Joni; a daughter, Wendy Thames; his grandchildren, Matt Slaydon, Jason Slaydon, Jenny Slaydon, Fisher Hamilton and Hannah Hamilton, all of Lake Charles, La., Phoebe Qualls of Sulphur, La., and Tiffany Maggio of Moss Bluff, La.; his great-grandchildren, Carter, Sadie, Hunter, Seth and Sarah; and close family friend Inci Glover of Lake Charles, La.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Barton Hamilton; and his sister, Dorothy Hamilton.

His funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles, La. The Rev. Rick McClain will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the start of the service.
