Beverly Susan (Ward) Walsh, 76, of Orland Park, Ill., formerly of Belfast, passed away Dec. 21, 2010.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Walsh; devoted mother of Michael Walsh and wife Diane, Jeffrey Walsh and wife Jody and Thomas Walsh and wife Mary; proud grandmother of Michael Walsh and wife Jill, Robert Walsh and wife Jillian, Joanna Novak, Kristy Murphy and husband Brandon, Donald Walsh and Jeffrey Walsh and wife Diana; loving great-grandmother to Kayla, Caitlin and Alexandra; and loving sister of Alta, Laurie and the late Louise and Robert. She was a kind aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a special friend of many.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Edwin Ward.

After leaving her home in Belfast, Beverly became a switchboard operator at the White House where she met her husband, Cpl. Donald L. Walsh, who was assigned as a secret service agent to Presidents Eisenhower and Truman. She moved to Orland Park, Ill., in 1956, where she was employed by American Badge Company. She also ran as a candidate for Orland Park Village Trustee.

Beverly moved to Bridgeview where she was employed for many years at U.S. Steel Company in Bedford Park and then moved to Michigan for several years until returning home to Orland Park, Ill. She was also employed at Ye Olde Rockin’ Chair Lounge in Orland Park.

Arrangements were under the care of Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 14205 Union Ave., Orland Park, Ill. A funeral service was held at Schmaedeke Funeral Home with private interment.
