A. Lloyd Gould, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his home with his loving family and friends by his side.

He was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Flushing, N.Y., the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Ann (Brown) Gould.

He owned and operated Gould & Son Propane.

Lloyd enjoyed spending his spare time in his garage, tinkering. He was able to fix about anything. He also enjoyed telling stories, hunting and loved to fish. He was an avid NASCAR fan and could tell you all the stats of the drivers. Lloyd also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 55 years Tina Gould; one daughter Laurie Gould of Searsport; one son Jerry Gould of Terlingua, Texas; grandchildren, Benjamin Dudley and his girlfriend Marly of Saco, Logan Williams of Maine, Scott Gould and girlfriend Holly of North Hampton, N.H., and Kaitlyn Gould of Rochester, N.H.; three great-grandchildren; one sister Myra Philbrook of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two aunts, Carrie Dauksis and Hilda Brown of Bayville, N.J.; sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Milford Grant of Searsport, Eunice Cushman of Corpus Christie, Texas, Adelaide Rossi of Stoughton, Mass., and Barbara Carr of Searsport. He is also survived by his cousin who was like a brother to him, Robert Tapp and wife Barbara of Beachwood, N.J.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many friends in Maine and Florida. Lloyd will also be missed by his best friend and faithful canine companion Jose.

Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his brother-in-law and fishing buddy Jimmy Carr.

A funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m. at Searsport United Methodist Church, Main Street, Searsport, with Pastor Steve Macleod officiating.

Memorial contributions in Lloyd’s memory may be made to an Animal Shelter of one’s choice or to The National Arbor Day Foundation at Arbor Day Foundation Gift Planning 211 N 12th St. Lincoln, NE 68510.
