Marian W. Edgerly of Albion passed away peacefully following a brief illness Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Inland Hospital in Waterville.

She was born in Troy Aug. 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Linwood and Gladys (Heath) Wingate.

Marian married John “Jack” F. Edgerly Aug. 28, 1943, and together they shared many wonderful years together until his passing Aug. 26, 1988.

Marian and Jack operated the family potato farm for many years. She loved being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, picking berries, taking long walks, mowing her lawn or just sitting in the sun. In her earlier years, Marian enjoyed snowmobiling and dancing. Most of all she enjoyed her family and her home.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her son David Edgerly and her sister Ferne Curtis.

Marian will be sadly missed by her daughters, Faith Knowlton and her husband Dexter Leach of Unity and Susan Lombard also of Unity; her brother Roger Wingate and his wife Carolyn of Thorndike; her grandchildren, Lisa Proctor and her husband Tim, Lori Knowlton and her husband Duane, Steven Knowlton and his wife Gretchen, Sarah Lombard, and Daniel Lombard; her great-grandchildren, Sydney, Austin, and Gretta Knowlton; Noel, Ashley, and Selina Proctor and Amanda Tharp; her daughter-in-law, Jean Hanson of Albion; her special friend and caregiver Pam Wagstaff of Albion; and several nieces and nephews.
