The Busline League small school boys and girls basketball season pressed on Tuesday afternoon as Searsport District Middle School braved the snow to venture to Tenants Harbor for a pair of hoop contests with host St. George Elementary School.

The end result saw a split in the action, with both the Searsport boys and St. George girls earning victories.

In the boys game, the host Dragon boys dropped a 56-38 decision to visiting Searsport. The Vikings led 14-11, 27-19 and 41-25 at the quarter breaks.

Bryce Shorey keyed Searsport with 18 points, three rebounds and two steals, while also chipping in were Jacob Powell (16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals), Alex Woodward (11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals), Dylan Grant (4 points, 2 rebounds), Cody Parks (3 points), Jay Burkard (3 points) and Brayden Perkins (point).

For St. George, Philip Atwood led the way with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Also contributing to the offense were Josh Clough (4 points, rebound), Kyle Waters (4 points, steal), Jesse Hallock (3 points, 5 rebounds), Troy Benner (2 points, 8 rebounds), Eben Wight (2 points, 2 rebounds) and Caleb Long (2 points, 3 rebounds).

St George shot 15-of-64 (23 percent) from the field and 5-of-15 (33 percent) from the foul line.

In the girls game, the host Dragon girls upended visiting Searsport 60-27. St. George led 18-8, 28-15 and 43-20 at the quarter breaks.

Paige Tyler led the Dragons with 19 points, while Lily Vachon added 16; Bailee Cox, 13; Alexis Davis, six; Caitlin Banda, four; and Megan Wilson, two.

Ali Northup keyed Searsport with 10 points, while Melinda Ogden added six; Kate McFarlin, three; and Anna Bucklin, Brittany Ward, Chauntelle Gillo and Alexis Allenwood, each two.

Searsport shot 71 percent from the foul line and St. George 64 percent.
