The third annual Tri-Town Snow Riders ice-fishing derby will be Saturday, Feb. 19. The event is on free fishing weekend and includes all legal waters in Waldo and Knox counties.
The derby will run 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weigh-in will be 3 to 6 p.m. The base camp and weigh station will be the Tri-Town Snow Riders Club on Brown Road in Morrill.
Complimentary food will be available 11 a.m. to close at the clubhouse.
Registration is $5 per ticket and everyone needs one ticket per fish entered.
First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded. The adult categories are salmon, brook trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and togue, There will be a booby prize for largest pickerel.
The categories for those ages 15 and younger are largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, perch, pickerel and togue.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. A Jiffy ice auger is one of the prizes.
Other rules: No fish will be registered after 6 p.m.; all registered fish will be confiscated until prizes are awarded at the end of the derby; all prizes will be awarded at 6:30 p.m. (one need not be present to win); and all decisions made by Tri-Town Snow Riders Derby officials are final.
