Perhaps the subject line in an e-mail from Belfast Area High School athletic director Mark Babin announcing more weather-related postponements summed up the feelings of most weary Midcoast school sports administrators trying daily to juggle schedules: SNOW!!

With the front end of Wednesday’s expected snowstorm touching down in the Midcoast early Tuesday afternoon, many high school athletic events scheduled for Feb. 1 have been postponed and will be played later this week.

The Medomak Valley boys and girls basketball teams were to host Rockland in a varsity doubleheader in Waldoboro, but the games have been pushed to Thursday, Feb. 3. The varsity girls game will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the boys to follow at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Camden Hills and Belfast also were scheduled to square off in separate varsity contests Tuesday, but those games have also been moved to Thursday, Feb. 3. The varsity boys contest will be played at Belfast at 6:30 p.m., while the varsity girls will tip off at 7 p.m. in Rockport.

The Georges Valley boys basketball game scheduled for Tuesday at Boothbay Region has also been postponed to Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. for the varsity contest.

The Searsport boys basketball home game scheduled for Tuesday against Bangor Christian has also been postponed, with makeup date not yet determined.

Local hoop games still scheduled to be played Tuesday, Feb. 1 include:

Vinalhaven boys at North Haven — 5:30 p.m.

Nokomis boys at Mount View — 5:30 p.m.

Islesboro boys at Pine Tree Academy — 7:30 p.m.

Mount View girls at Nokomis — 5:30 p.m.

Islesboro girls at Pine Tree Academy — 6 p.m.

Vinalhaven girls at North Haven — 4 p.m.
