A tractor-trailer truck that became “hung up” on the curbing where Vine Street intersects with Waldo Avenue tied up traffic for a short time Thursday morning, Feb. 10.

At about 10:30 a.m. police were alerted to the situation and officers at the scene stopped traffic approaching on Waldo Avenue from both directions for about 25 minutes until the truck was freed and continued on its way.

Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham of the Belfast Police Department said the truck was pulling off Vine Street and onto Waldo Avenue when its rear tires became “hung up” on curbing alongside Vine Street, which rendered the truck immobile.
