The best middle school wrestlers in the Midcoast and beyond have championship aspirations in mind, and hope for those dreams to become reality this weekend.

The Pine Tree Wrestling League will host its championship meet Saturday, March 26 at Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro, with grapplers from Rockland District Middle School, Troy Howard Middle School of Belfast, Medomak Middle School of Waldoboro, Camden-Rockport Middle School, Hope-Appleton-Lincolnville (HAL) and independents from Searsport District Middle School and St. George Elementary School competing for coveted state crowns.

The meet will begin at about 9:30 a.m., with check-in set for 7:30 a.m. and weigh-ins at 8 a.m.

There will be a coaches meeting at the conclusion of weigh-ins in the Ronald E. Dolloff Auditorium and teams will line up at the edge of the mats for the national anthem and team introductions prior to the start of the event.

Tickets for the event are $4 for adults, $2 for students and $12 for families.

The concession stand will be open for the event selling a variety of foods, and coolers are permitted in the gymnasium.
