An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Belfast Police Department reported the following activity between March 14 and March 22:

March 14

Paula L. Hall, 47, of Belfast, parked her 2001 Chevrolet SUV at The Big Apple on Searsport Avenue. The vehicle was parked and unattended when 22-year-old Camilla E. Roe of Belfast reportedly backed into Hall’s vehicle in the 2006 Toyota pickup she was operating. Roe later told police she was unfamiliar with the pickup she was operating, and said it was registered to Andrew D. Hansen of Belfast. Roe was not hurt in the collision. The Toyota sustained no damage, but damage to the SUV was estimated at $1,000.

March 15

Eric D. Perkins, 35, of Liberty, was summoned for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Marc W. McKinney, 26, of Belmont, was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle for greater than 150 days.

Jeffrey T. Butler, 34, of Knox, was summoned for failure to register a motor vehicle.

March 16

Jason W. Zanke, 37, of Stonington, was summoned for speeding for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone.

Cheryl Jack, 50, of Belfast, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release. Jack was also charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

March 18

Zachary A. Joseph, 18, of Searsport, was arrested on warrants and was summoned for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Christopher Beeton, 23, of Etna, was arrested on warrants.

March 19

Jesse L. Witherell, 34, of Belfast, was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle for greater than 150 days.

Robert L. Warren, 53, of Winterport, was arrested on warrants.

March 20

Frank J. Leathers, 25, of Belfast, was arrested on charges of obstructing the report of a crime, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and refusing to submit to arrest.

Sara D. Johnstone, 26, of Belfast, was summoned for speeding for driving 49 mph in a 35 mph zone and for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Matthew R. Mercer, 25, of Frankfort, was summoned for speeding for driving 59 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Holly-Jo Ward, 37, of Belmont, was summoned for operating with an inadequate headlight.

March 21

Daniel Lawdis, 20, of Northport, was summoned for speeding for driving 47 mph in a 35 mph zone and for failure to provide proof of insurance.

A 17-year-old male was summoned for speeding for driving 46 mph in a 25 mph zone.
