An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Belfast Police Department reported the following activity between March 22 and March 29:

March 22

Suzanne L. Wardwell, 48, of Brooks, was summoned for speeding for driving 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.

March 23

Brandon M. Oxton, 28, of Northport, was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Steve Pomeroy, 54, of Belfast, was arrested on a charge of assault.

Cindy Polk, 35, of Lincolnville, was backing out of a Cedar Street property and onto Franklin Street in her 1999 Ford SUV at about 7:30 a.m. At that time she reportedly backed into a parked 2005 Pontiac registered to 48-year-old Norman Kenney of Belfast. The accident caused no damage to Polk’s vehicle, but Kenney’s car sustained about $1,500 worth of damage. No one was hurt.

March 25

Paul Carr, 30, of Belfast, was summoned for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Edwin D. Johnson, 38, of Belfast, was summoned for speeding for driving 44 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Tammy Freeman, 39, of Belfast, was summoned for speeding for driving 39 mph in a 25 mph zone and for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Sharon L. Small, 33, of Belfast, was summoned for theft by unauthorized taking.
