In April, Friday Night Flicks at the Belfast Free Library is presenting whose subjects are movies themselves. All films are shown at 7 p.m. in the Abbott Room of the library, 106 High St., and are presented free of charge.

The April 22 presentation of Robert Altman’s “The Player” offers a stinging satire of the business of Hollywood that boasts perhaps the greatest lineup of cameo performances ever filmed. Tim Robbins stars as a studio executive who will go to any lengths to succeed in a world where one misstep can destroy a career.

On April 29, Johnny Depp plays the title role in Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood,” a sympathetic look at the life of the man often referred to as the worst director in movie history. Martin Landau won an Academy Award for his role as Bela Lugosi; and Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker and Patricia Arquette round out the cast.
