Cloe Chunn, president of the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition, leads a bird walk Monday, May 16 at 7 a.m. through the 170-acre Probert Memorial Forest, at Cobb Road, just off Route 1.

The group will walk, look, and listen for spring migrant birds just arriving, claiming territory, or already courting and nesting in the forest, which in 2006 became part of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine land trust.

Participants should avoid wearing white, and bring binoculars and insect protection, such as long sleeves, long pants and hat. Wet feet are a distinct possibility; be prepared. Plenty of parking is available at the end of Cobb Road.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Chunn at 338-1147.
