Mother’s Day will never be the same, thanks to Bay Chamber Concerts’ presentation of Héctor Del Curto’s Tango Quartet Sunday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1.

This dramatic music and dance event will feature authentic Argentinean tango music and FeralTango, a professional tango dance pair. Argentinean musician Del Curto has captivated audiences around the world. FeralTango, a professional tango couple consisting of Ivan Terrazas and Sara Grdan, will be dancing onstage to his music.

The preceding afternoon, concert sponsor RAYR the wine shop will host a special wine tasting Saturday, May 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. featuring Argentinean wine and live music. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Bay Chamber.

And a few hours before the concert, the public is invited to attend a free workshop where the Odeon Chamber Orchestra will be working with Del Curto on the emotionally charged tango music of Astor Piazzolla. The orchestra is preparing this repertoire for its public concert later this spring. The workshop will be held at the Bay Chamber Community Music School, 18 Central St., Rockport, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the top floor Recital Hall.

Most tickets to Héctor Del Curto’s Eternal Tango Quartet are just $25, and youth tickets for those younger than 19 are only $8. Prime seating tickets are $45.
