The church family of the North Searsport United Methodist Church invites the community to participate in a mission project they will be holding to benefit soldiers going overseas.

Saturday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, church members will be making small pillows for military personnel who will be traveling overseas through Bangor International Airport. This is in response to the recent articles about soldiers having to pay for pillows on their flights, and then return them upon the completion of the travel.

Anyone with a sewing machine is invited to bring their machines and dark-colored fabric to make the 11” x 14” pillows. Those without a sewing machine are also invited to help with the assembly. Coffee and muffins will be provided for volunteers helping with this effort to honor military personnel.

The North Searsport United Methodist Church in located at the intersection of Mount Ephraim Road and Loop Road, seven miles from downtown Searsport, and near the North Searsport Fire Station. For more information, call Barbara Cataldo at 548-6538.
