On Friday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Belfast Farmers’ Market will host its monthly Main Street Festival on upper Main Street between Church and High streets. Balkan power duo Cinder Conk will perform from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Balkan music is the vibrant, colorful sound of Roma (Gypsy), Yiddish and Eastern European culture, known for its haunting allure to even unfamiliar ears. In the past year, Cinder Conk has played nonstop including at the Golden Fest and Barbes in Brooklyn; Balkan Night in Concord, Mass.; and a recent tour with Fishtank Ensemble. They toured the mid-Atlantic in April on a CD Release Tour for their new album, “Kukeri.” In May, they traveled to Boston to share the stage with the legendary Petar Ralchev band of Bulgaria.

Main Street Festivals take place on the first Friday of each month, May through October. For a list of this season’s 23 vendors, visit belfastfarmersmarket.org.
