BelfastArts’ First Friday art walk will kick off the summer season June 3 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and everyone is invited to join the downtown celebration of the arts. More than a dozen art galleries, studios and other art venues participate in the seasonal art walks.

Galleries and studios hosting receptions on June 3 include Åarhus Gallery, High Street Studio and Gallery, Maine Farmland Trust Gallery, the Clifford Gallery of Waterfall Arts and Betts Gallery in The Belfast Framer. Studios and galleries also keeping their doors open into the evening include Art Alliance Gallery, Susan Cooney Fine Art Studio, Ben Hall’s 960 Studio, Daniel Anselmi’s 75 Main Street Studio, Brambles, Dina Petrillo at The Post Office Studio Workshop, the Belfast Co-op Café, Beyond the Sea, the Parent Gallery, Galerie Dufour and Belfast’s newest art venue, Lauren Veale Jewelry Studio.

As has become tradition in Belfast, street performances are an integral part of the celebration. On June 3, art walkers will get to enjoy folk music and original songs by guitarist and mandolin player Craig Hensley, the sultry sax sounds of Lincoln Blake and modern dance performances by Alexandra Pitre.

In July and August, the Belfast art walks take place every Friday evening.  For information on the city’s art walks, visit
