An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.

Lincolnville Police reported the following activity through May 31:

May 19

Chief Ron Young responded to a reported property damage accident on Searsmont Road. A vehicle driven by Elaine Sampson, 63, of Waldo had struck a deer which turned out to be over the Lincolnville town line. Young reported no damage to Sampson’s vehicle and arrangements were made for someone to pick up the deer.

Chief Young conducted a radar detail for morning school patrol on Hope Road. No violations were reported.

Chief Young conducted a radar detail on Youngtown Road. No violations were reported.

Chief Young received a parking problem complaint at Lincolnville Beach. The complaint was referred to the parking officer for enforcement.

Chief Young responded to an alarm activation on High Street. The complaint was reported unfounded as Young was en route.

Chief Young received a motor vehicle complaint involving a car and school bus on Searsmont Road. The complaint is under investigation.

May 20

Chief Young received a complaint of a disturbance on Heal Road. The complaint was unfounded.

May 21

Lawrence Stanley, 63, of Rockland was issued a summons for an expired inspection sticker (more than 150 days past due) by Officer Ryan Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Officer Nickerson responded to Heal Road for service of paperwork for Belfast District Court.

Officer Nickerson is investigating a fraud complaint from a Robbins Road resident.

Officer Nickerson conducted business checks on Atlantic Highway and Beach Road. Both buildings were secure.

May 22

Judith Schebecker, 56, of Camden was issued a summons for speeding (51 mph in a 30 mph zone) by Officer Merl Reed on Hope Road.

Brian Stoddard, 27, of Belfast was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation (no sticker) by Officer Reed on Ducktrap Road.

May 23

Chief Young responded to Atlantic Highway for a public assist.

Donald Gordon, 59, Bangor was issued a summons for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Curt Andrick on Main Street.

Adam Bernier, 29, of Greene was issued a summons for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Andrick on Main Street.

Benjamin Dunham, 24, of Morrill was summoned by Officer Andrick for failure to wear a seatbelt on Main Street.

Sara Whitney, 28, of Union was summoned by Officer Andrick for failure to wear a seatbelt on Main Street.

Jefferson Rankin, 27, of Belmont was issued a citation by Officer Andrick for failure to wear a seatbelt on Main Street.

Amber Cummings, 33, of Belfast was summoned for a seatbelt violation on Main Street by Officer Andrick.

May 24

Chief Young is investigating a complaint of a fraudulent check at Drake’s Store.

Officer Andrick responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in regards to a broken window on Beach Road. Following investigation, Andrick determined the complaint unfounded.

Chief Young responded to a juvenile complaint on Belfast Road. No further action was taken.

Chief Young and Officer Andrick responded to Atlantic Highway for a complaint of a suspicious person parking at the French Cemetery.

Jody Peloquin, 39, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Warren Mead, 62, of West Tisbury, Mass. was issued a summons for speeding (44 mph in a 30 mph zone) by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Shawn Nadeau, 40, of Rockland, was issued a summons for a seatbelt violation on Atlantic Highway by Officer Andrick.

Dean Harvey, 49, of Troy was issued a summons for a seatbelt violation by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Victor Robinson, 57, of Perry was issued a summons for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Anita Murphy, 32, of Belfast was issued a summons for a seatbelt violation by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Matthew Genness, 31, of Clinton was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

James Cilley, 38, of Northport was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Officer Andrick conducted a radar detail on Ducktrap Road. No violations were reported.

May 25

George Kenny, 72, of Camden was issued a summons for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Gloria Warren, 39, of Searsport was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Adam Duvall, 29, of Winslow was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Chief Young responded to Heal Road for a medical assist. A male subject was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center for treatment of a hand laceration.

Officer Andrick responded to Atlantic Highway for a traffic hazard complaint. Andrick conducted traffic while a heavy equipment vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Chief Young received a motor vehicle complaint of erratic driving on Heal Road. No contact was made with the driver.

May 26

Chief Young conducted a radar detail on Hope Road at Lincolnville Central School. No violations reported.

Chief Young responded to a traffic hazard complaint on Atlantic Highway. Young conducted traffic as an excavator was being loaded onto a trailer.

Chief Young is investigating a reported sexual assault complaint. The investigation is continuing.

Chief Young responded to a reported burglary on Thurlow Road. Approximately $6,000 in items were reportedly stolen after a home was entered. Young was assisted by Sgt. Bronson of the Maine State Police who arrived with a K-9 unit. The K-9 did not track any leads. The complaint remains under investigation.

Chief Young responded to an agency assist complaint on Youngtown Road. A male subject was taken to Waldo County General Hospital by Camden First Aid Association for a medical evaluation.

May 28

Robert Cochran, 32, of Lincolnville was summoned for a seatbelt violation and failure to provide evidence of insurance by Officer Nickerson on Searsmont Road. Cochran was also issued a criminal traffic citation for operating an unregistered vehicle (more than 150 days past due).

Aaron Herrick, 21, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance following a traffic stop by Officer Nickerson on Slab City Road.

Officer Nickerson conducted a traffic detail on Main Street. A written warning was issued for speed and a defective plate light.

Allen Eldridge, 51, of Northport was summoned for a seatbelt violation on Atlantic Highway by Officer Nickerson.

Bear Hopkins, 33, of Union was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Stuart Young, 56, of Camden was summoned for an inspection violation (more than 150 days past due) by Officer Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Derek Fraser, 30, of West Gardiner was issued a summons for a seatbelt violation by Officer Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Officer Nickerson conducted a business check on Atlantic Highway. The building was secure.

Charlene Rytky, 55, of Rockland was issued citations for failure to wear a seatbelt, an inspection violation (no sticker) and failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Daniel Drinkwater, 48, of Belfast was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Nickerson on Atlantic Highway.

Jamie Clark, 27, of Camden was issued a summons for failure to wear a seatbelt on Atlantic Highway by Officer Nickerson.

May 29

Steven Jarry, 52, of Appleton was summoned for failure to wear a seatbelt and failure to provide proof of insurance on Main Street by Officer Nickerson.

James Laurita, 52, of Hope was summoned for a seatbelt violation and failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Marion Mccully, 71, of Fernandina Beach, Fla. was summoned for a seatbelt violation and failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Robert Betjemann, 65, of Lincolnville was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Donna Sherman, 49, Augusta was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt on Main Street by Officer Nickerson.

Laura Gertner, 21, of Hope was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Jarrod Cook, 36, of Lincolnville was summoned for a seatbelt violation by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Belinda Williams, 38, of Lincolnville was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt by Officer Nickerson on Main Street.

Officer Nickerson responded to a complaint of gun shots being fired on Rocky Point Road. Nickerson searched the location and found no violations.

Kimberly Sanderson, 40, of Searsmont was issued a seatbelt citation by Officer Nickerson on Moody Mountain Road.

Ashley Marden, 24, of Dover-Foxcroft was summoned for a seatbelt violation and failure to provide proof of insurance by Officer Nickerson on Moody Mountain Road.

May 30

Chief Young, Officer Nickerson and Officer Michael McFadden III conducted traffic detail for the Memorial Day parade.

May 31

Chief Young is investigating a reported complaint of a suspicious person trespassing on Hope Road.

Chief Young received a reported theft complaint of grave stones that had been stolen from Maplewood Cemetery on Ducktrap Road. The complainant reported existing stones had also been moved and altered from their plot. The complaint remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact Young at 763-3555.

General news

Lincolnville Police responded to five animal control complaints during the reported activity period. Chief Young reminds motorists that the 2011 “Buckle Up No Excuses Campaign” will continue through June 5. Lincolnville Police will be continuing efforts targeted at seat belt enforcement.
