Shannon M. Brown, of Swanville, received a bachelor’s degree from Smith College on Sunday, May 15.

During her tenure at Smith, where she studied studio art, Brown was on the Dean’s List, received the Presidential Scholar Award and was given a Hoxie grant to work with Waterfall Arts, a Belfast arts organization.

Brown is looking forward to continuing her association with Waterfall Arts and developing paintings for her first gallery show, according to a press release from the college.

Brown was a student in Smith’s Ada Comstock Scholars Program, for students beyond the traditional age.
