Expanding Opportunities will be holding their second annual benefit dinner and show, Asante Sana, Saturday, June 25, at 7 p.m.

The Social Justice Committee at the Belfast UU Church will again sponsor the event, with returning performances by belly dancer Helena Melone and local African drumming group, DJUMP, led by Jeff Wolovitz. The organization is seeking volunteers for a variety of tasks at this fun family event such as kitchen and cooking help, set up and clean up, and handling the door.

Locally, the organization manages Camp Forest — a wilderness day and expedition camp for children — and the Aina Moja Shop at The Working Art Gallery, where local artwork meets African and Peruvian artwork.

Internationally, the organization administers JWHS children’s home, girl-child rescue, distance learning center and service journey projects to Kenya and Peru.

Tickets to the event are $10, but volunteers and children will attend free.
