The Brooks Park Boosters will screen the film “Field of Dreams” for Father’s Day at the Marsh River Theater, 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139. The Sunday, June 19 screening will begin at 4 p.m.

“Field of Dreams” is a 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones, and film legend Burt Lancaster in his final silver screen appearance. The film’s focus is Iowa corn farmer Ray Kinsella (Costner), who one day hears a voice in the cornfield telling him, “If you build it, he will come.” Despite various obstacles, Kinsella builds a baseball diamond, only to see the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson ready to play ball. The film is rated PG.

The ticket price for adults is $5, $2 for children younger than 13; all fathers will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by their child(ren). Concessions will be sold and a 50/50 drawing will take place. Funds raised will go towards the Brooks Fourth of July fireworks.
