The College Connection — a program of Belfast Adult and Community Education that offers academically intense college preparation programming for adults — recently announced an expansion of its program.

In response to student feedback and to better meet student needs, the College Connection will expand to 17 sessions. This, according to a press release from The College Connection, will allow for extra time to be spent on academics and individual needs.

The College Connection is designed to help non-traditional, adult students refresh their English and math skills, build self-confidence and learn what is necessary to succeed in college. The program also provides assistance with all aspects of the college enrollment process, including financial aid and college application paperwork, counseling, college tours, and more.

The College Connection is funded in part by a state grant as well as local monies from Belfast Adult and Community Education. The program is free; however, students are responsible for purchasing the books needed for their courses.

The College Connection is actively recruiting for the fall semester, which will begin Sept. 12. Contact Carolyn Haskell at 338-3197 for more information.
