The following students from Waldo County were recently named to the Dean’s List at Maine Maritime Academy for outstanding academic achievement in the second semester of the 2010-2011 academic year:

• Andrew Plessner of Morrill, a member of the class of 2013, is majoring in Marine Engineering Technology. He is a graduate of Belfast Area High School.

• Timothy Morley of Belfast, a member of the class of 2014, is majoring in Marine Engineering Technology. He is a graduate of Belfast Area High School.

• Kyle Ritchie of Stockton Springs, a member of the class of 2011, is majoring in Marine Engineering Operations. He is a graduate of Searsport District High School.

• Lucas Miller of Belfast, a member of the class of 2011, is majoring in Marine Systems Engineering. He is a graduate of Belfast Area High School.

Students named to the Dean’s List earn a grade-point average of 3.3 or above, on a 4.0 scale.

Maine Maritime Academy, a public, co-educational college specializing in ocean and marine-oriented programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, was founded in 1941. MMA enrolls more than 900 students from 35 states and several foreign countries. The college awards Associate of Science, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in 15 fields of study.
