The annual Aldermere Farm Art Show and Sale will take place Saturday, Aug. 13. Artists are invited to submit paintings for sale with part of the proceeds going to help support the many great agricultural programs at the farm. In years past, hundreds of visitors have attended the event along with the Member Appreciation Night, which is a preview to the art show for Aldermere Farm donors and volunteers.

Artists are invited to submit for sale framed or matted originals in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil and pastel; or prints of paintings that depict the Belted Galloway cattle, Aldermere Farm scenery or Maine coastal scenes. There are two different options for participating, exhibiting and selling artwork with either 30 or 100 percent of the sales price donated to Aldermere Farm. Artists are encouraged to participate in the manner that makes the most sense for them; attendance at the sale is not required.

There is no limit to the number of originals each artist can submit, but prints are limited to 15 per artist. Prints also should be placed in a box or container that could be used for display purposes. Artwork will be on display at the main farm barn “gallery” Friday evening, Aug. 12 for the Member Appreciation Night event and then all day Aug. 13 for the Art Show and Sale.

Artwork can be brought to the farm office at 70 Russell Ave. weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. between Aug. 1 and 9. For registration and more information, contact program manager Sarah Post at 236-2739 or spost@mcht.org. For more event information, visit aldermere.org.
