An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following recent incidents in Waldo County. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 1-800-452-4664.

June 12

Trooper Bethany Couturier responded to Pleasant Hill Lane in Unity in reference to a family fight. All parties were warned for disorderly conduct.

June 14

Trooper Corey Smith responded to Detroit Road in Troy for a domestic assault. Dean Spaulding, 33, was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana and an assortment of marijuana paraphernalia and released.

June 16

Trooper Jonah O’Roak conducted a speaking engagement at Belfast Area High School for Ric’s Driver Education Class.

Trooper Smith received a report of a vehicle passing a school bus in Unity. The case remains under investigation.

June 18

Trooper Mark Barney stopped Timothy Carter, 31, for speeding on Route 7 in the town of Waldo. Carter showed a suspended New Hampshire license, and was charged for operating without a license.

Trooper Shawn Porter pulled over Eric Albee, 26, on Arnold Lane in Palermo for speeding. Albee had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was arrested on the warrant and additionally charged with OUI.

Trooper Porter and Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to School Street in Unity for a family fight. Mark Whittaker, 29, was arrested for obstructing the report of a crime and taken to the Waldo County Jail.
