CompTIA is an industry organization providing certifications for Information Technology professionals. The CompTIA certifications are internationally recognized industry credentials that validate the knowledge of computer service, networking and security professionals.

The exams cover a broad range of hardware, software, and networking technologies, but are not bound to any vendor-specific products. The skills and knowledge measured by the CompTIA certification content is developed from an industry-wide job task analysis.

Earning CompTIA certification demonstrates that a candidate has a broad base of knowledge and skills in computer, networking and security technologies. Instruction for these certifications is provided throughout Maine by independent training centers and colleges with Information Technology programs of study.
