In July and August, Waterfall Arts has a full schedule of art classes for adults, teens and kids at its Belfast and Montville locations. Space is still available, as are partial scholarships for those in need.

The Belfast classes beginning Monday, July 11 include Natural Wizardry: Turning Shells and Twigs into Paper and Art with Rachel Littlefield for 5- to 8-year-olds; Monster-Mation, a class in making animated monster videos with Shannon Brown for age 8 to 12; and Way Beyond Scrapbooking: Book Arts Workshop for age 12 through adult with Mary Jean Viano Crowe on five Monday evenings. A family workshop in making pinhole cameras with Anna Strickland is scheduled for Saturday, July 16 from noon to 4 p.m. at Waterfall Arts’ Montville site.

Classes in Belfast beginning Monday, July 18 are Puppet Theater, featuring the story “The Seven Ravens” with Nancy Tyndall for age 5 to 8 and Pottery/Functional Clay Projects and Printmaking: From Cards to T’s with Russell Kahn for age 8 to 12. Wes Reddick leads a workshop in Shoebox Kinetics on four consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning July 20 for age 12 through adult.

Tucker Daniels returns with Music and Mayhem Again! for age 5 to 7 Monday through Thursday, July 25 to 28 in Belfast; and well-known assemblage artist Wally Warren will lead a hands-on Found Object Workshop in Montville Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31 for age 12 through adult.

Montville classes in August include another weeklong round of Natural Wizardry with Littlefield for age 5 to 8 from 10 a.m. to noon and Intro to Torchwork: Glass Beads and Sculpture with Cate Lamb for age 12 and up from 9 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, Aug. 6, Laura Jaquays will hold the second annual Art HOPE creativity workshop for adults. The Art HOPE workshop is free with pre-registration.

On Monday, Aug. 8 glass artist Marta Bernbaum returns to Waterfall Arts Montville with a weeklong class in Torchwork for all skill levels, age 12 and up. Architect Richard Tremaglio will lead a lively roundtable discussion in the Art of Resourceful Building Thursday evening, Aug. 11 in Belfast. Strickland brings Cyanotype Photogramming for Everyone (age 6 through adult) to Montville on Saturday, Aug. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. Artist Emily Brown, whose work will be featured in a one-person exhibit at Waterfall Arts’ Clifford Gallery in August, will lead a two-day workshop, Drawing in Black and White, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21 in Montville.
