The summer’s theme of multiculturalism continues at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., Thursday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m. with Jennifer Armstrong’s program Peace Tales and Poems from Around the World.

Armstrong is a musical storyteller with songs and stories for all ages. Her programs are interactive and weave together songs, tunes and tales from the folk tradition and her own life experience. A wide variety of instruments enliven her shows including bagpipe, fiddle and banjo.

A dynamic, engaging performer, Armstrong shares songs, stories and poetry with audiences across the country. Her programs, recordings and books encourage and inspire the creative artist inside each of us.

In keeping with the Maine Celtic Celebration, Armstrong will invite audience members to try their hand at writing Irish poetry at the conclusion of her program in a mini-workshop in limerick writing. Completed works will be displayed at the library during the festival, and pizza will be provided for all poets.
