An artisans fair will be held Friday, Aug. 5 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the First Church United Church of Christ, 104 Church St.

The First Church wishes to encourage and support the local artisans’ community and invites artists of all types, potters, painters, weavers, jewelry makers, photographers, stained glass makers and others who have original works of art available for sale to participate.

The Artisans Fair at First Church will be located on the lawn of the church or, in case of inclement weather, in the Parish House. Applications can be obtained from the First Church office or online at firstchurchinbelfast.org. Applications and fee are due to the church by Friday, July 22.

The Artisans Fair at First Church also will have a food stand as well as fun and games for the young ones. Local nonprofit groups also are invited to come and set up a table to display information. The Artisans Fair at First Church is scheduled to coincide with both the downtown Friday Night Art Walk in downtown Belfast as well as the Belfast Art Fair at Heritage Park, a fair for artists of two-dimensional works, with the hope of bringing even more visitors to all the events.
