The sixth annual Hope Triathlon will take place Saturday, July 16 in and around Hobbs Pond.
The event, a sprint triathlon, includes a one-quarter-mile swim, 13-mile bike ride and 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) road run.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. on Pond Road in Hope and the race starts at 8 a.m., rain or shine.
The beneficiary of this year’s event is St. Bernard’s Soup Kitchen. The soup kitchen, which serves an average of 120 meals per day to hungry members of our community, is in need of renovation, with proceeds going toward renovation costs. Checks are tax deductible and can be made directly to St. Bernard’s Soup Kitchen. Applications are available at www.hopegeneral.com.
In addition to this year’s triathlon, the first annual Children’s Fun Run will be held on Pond Road starting at 8:45 a.m. Proceeds from the fun run will benefit Hope Elephants.
