On Sunday, July 31, from 4-7 p.m., the First Baptist Church of Belfast is planning “A Celebration for Habitat on the Common.”

It is to celebrate Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County’s completion of its first home in Waldo County and to raise funds for a second home to be built in Searsport.

On Belfast Common in Belfast, overlooking the harbor, the church is planning a family fun celebration with music, both secular and non-secular; Bible stories for children; and other surprise entertainment. The Belfast Fiddlers will be among the groups performing.

People should bring chairs or a blanket; they can have their own picnic on the Common or purchase hot dogs, doughboys or cold drinks.

There is no admission fee, but a hat will be passed for donations to Habitat.
