Celene Farris and Louis Masciovecchio, co-owners of the Working Art Gallery, have decided that retirement is overrated. Five years after turning the reins of their downtown gallery over to Sheryl Tripp, they have decided to get back to running the gallery.

Farris said she missed Main Street and greeting and talking with visitors, both local and from away. Masciovecchio agreed, saying, “I had moved to South Carolina, but I missed Maine’s beauty … and my doctor.”

Working Art Gallery, 65 Main St., offers work by dozens of Maine artists and is open all year “or when we have the energy,” the owners said. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 338-4820 or visit theworkingartgallery.com.
