The weekly Belfast Friday Art Walk continues July 29 from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 8 p.m. Recent works by more than 100 artists are exhibited in almost 20 art studios and galleries, with refreshments to cool visitors at most venues.

Art Alliance Gallery (AAG) is home to several local artists of various media and will be one of the reception-hosting galleries. The other is High Street Studio and Gallery, where “Home Port Cookbook” author Will Holtham and the book’s illustrator, Susan Tobey White, will be book signing in conjunction with both the art walk and the Belfast Bound Book Festival.

Many of artists are on hand during the art walks and enjoy discussing their work with interested patrons. Downtown visitors also will be entertained by local favorite musical duo Tango, consisting of pianist Martin Gottlieb and singer Kristin Burkholder, performing from the Great American Songbook. Also on the downtown streets will be the moving meditation dance known as 5Rhythms, featuring Belfast’s own Anna Witholt-Abaldo with Sarah Wilde, Kari Luehman and Gail Edgerly. And Jacob Fricke, Belfast’s current Poet Laureate, will be afoot and reading from his work.
