The Centre Gallery of the Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St., is featuring the collage and mixed media works of Michael and Nancy Buckley through Aug. 31. There will be a public artists’ reception at the gallery Saturday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Michael and Nancy Buckley moved to Maine from Cape Cod in 2008. Originally from Boston, Nancy studied fine art at Marietta College in Ohio. She owned a stoneware pottery business that operated for six years in Cataumet, Mass. She went on to learn the sign trade at Butera School of Art in Boston and established a custom handcrafted sign business, which she has sustained since 1985.

Michael studied art at Wayne State University in Detroit and Sir George Williams University in Montreal. He works as a remodeling contractor and maintains the couple’s organic homestead in Freedom. The couple’s show at Centre Gallery features their current bodies of work comprised of collage, assemblage and sculpture, as well as earlier works.

The gallery is open when performances or other functions are scheduled or by appointment at any time. Call 568-3147 for more information and visit unityme.org to see performance schedules.
