Betts Gallery will feature “Italia, Bella,” a show of new work by local artist Lesia Sochor, during the month of August. A reception for the artist will be held Friday, Aug. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the gallery, located inside The Belfast Framer, 96 Main St.

A trip to Italy provoked this body of work, which will be on view through Aug. 27. Intimate glimpses of Italy’s rich culture emerge through graphite and colored pencil drawings, as well as oil paintings. Sochor received her BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art and has lived, painted, exhibited and taught in Maine for more than 30 years.

Betts Gallery hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 338-6465 or visit thebelfastframer.com.
