Camilla (Doak) Hurford, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast. She was born in Belfast on Oct. 22, 1918, daughter of Judge Carleton and Nellie (Brown) Doak.

She graduated from Crosby High School and the University of Maine, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Over the years she traveled extensively throughout the world with her husband, a career United States Air Force officer. Camilla was an avid bridge player and loyal Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her sister, Nell Tilley of Bucksport; brother, Lt. Col. Peter Doak, United States Army (retired) of Columbia Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Maj. Robert O. Hurford; and brothers, Carleton Doak Jr., George R. Doak, James E. Doak and Norman W. Doak.

A committal service and interment will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Head of the Tide Cemetery, Doak Road in Belfast. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St. in Bucksport.
