The second annual KnitMaine-ia fashion show seeks handknit or crocheted garments and accessories. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, Aug. 28. Submission forms can be found online at

KnitMaine-ia is organized by the Women of St. Margaret’s in Belfast. It will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4.30 p.m. as the kick-off event of Fiber College on the grounds of Searsport Shores Campground, Route 1. Tickets are $10, which includes a wine and cheese reception following the show and can be purchased in advance. Limited seating will be available, so advance reservations are recommended.

All proceeds will benefit New Hope for Women. In addition, handknit gloves, mittens, scarves or hats are being collected to be donated to the women and children who receive services from New Hope. For more information, send email to
