The local North Country Press has released “Cookin’ With Weezie” by Louise Jackson Parsons of Troy, chef at the Victorian Lace Tea Room in Burnham. It features 222 pages of favorite family recipes of Maine and New England, recipes that are easy, yet elegant and incorporate fresh, natural ingredients.

“Memories, memories, and more memories are what I got out of doing this cookbook,” writes Parsons, who said she enjoys sharing her old family recipes as well as many tips that might help anyone in the kitchen.

Parson advises making the kitchen a happy place with music, laughter, friends and family. not just a place to work. She said she has a CD player in her kitchen and finds herself moving with the beat as she cooks. She also advocates for local farmers markets.

The book, a hardcover that retails for $22, may be purchased at or from local bookstores.
