After being defeated handily at the hands of a team that has been a yearly stalwart in Little Ten Conference Class C in John Bapst of Bangor the previous weekend, the Mount View football team hit the road for Dexter Sept. 17 in hopes of jumping back above .500 on the young season.

The Mustangs did just that Saturday afternoon, and did so in convincing fashion.

Mount View (2-1) scored practically at will all day against the host Tigers and galloped to a 58-14 win.

Junior Will Nunn had a tremendous all-around game for the Mustangs, racking up 215 yards on the ground and finding the end zone four times. Senior Jay Babin also ran for 83 yards and a touchdown, while also tossing a 55-yard scoring pass to teammate Taylor Reynolds. Babin was 2-of-3 under center for Mount View for 58 yards.

Ryan St. Clair also rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown for the hosts, while Kenny McGray also found the end zone for the winners.

Mount View led 14-6 after the first quarter, 28-6 at halftime and 50-3 after three quarters. Dexter scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter and found paydirt again in the fourth.
