Everyone is invited to be part of a Blue Carpet Gala Benefit Dinner Theater night Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Waldo County YMCA on Route 52 to benefit the Bluefish Swim Team. Childcare, $5 per child, will be provided by Girl Scout Troop 521 and leader Meredith Hill. Deadline to sign up for childcare is Saturday, Oct. 1.

In “Final Cut,” B-movie director Eddie Cheek is looking for backers for his new flick, “The Zombie Was An Alien.” In return for financing his motion picture, he will put backers in his movie — it’s a killer proposition. The show will feature Bluefish coaches and parents in leading roles, including Gary Moline as Eddie Cheek, Bridget Winslow as Billie Club, Betsey Bradley as Cherri Pitt, Susan Cooney as Nova Devoe, Aaron Winslow as Rock Studd and Brett Steele as Quinnie Winston. Diners are encouraged to attend as part of Hollywood’s B-list scene, complete with evening wear and a stage name.

Tickets, available at the Y, are $20. A purchase of eight tickets permits reserving a table for the evening. Dinner will include salad, pork tenderloin with pineapple chutney and homemade apple pie. Door will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will start at 6 p.m. For more information, call 338-4598
