High school golf was at a premium Thursday in the Midcoast with three local squads hitting the links in search of a late-season victory. In the end, Medomak Valley was the lone squad to score a win, while both Belfast and Mount View came up short.

Medomak Valley 6, Belfast 3 … At Northport, the Panthers (6-2) secured their sixth win of the season in a late-season triumph over the Lions. Belfast’s Jamie Jackson was the medalist, shooting a 36 through nine holes. Medomak Valley outshot Belfast by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 170-184. Belfast is 3-6.

The individual results, with Panthers listed first, were: Adam Lynch (40) lost to Jackson (36); Isaac Greenrose (45) lost to Tim Sticht (42); Alex Greenrose (42) defeated Tyler McDevitt (47); Ryan Merrifield (58) defeated Logan Mitchell (59); Zack Judkins (43) defeated Grant Starrett (63); and Robbie Swan (65) lost to Allie Njaa.

Winslow 8, Mount View 1 … At Winslow, the Mustangs of Thorndike (0-7) had the day’s best golfer in Erik Larrabee, but could not overtake the Black Raiders and dropped the match. Winslow outshot Mount View by a four-golfer total of 172-214. Larrabee shot a 41 through nine holes to earn medalist honors.

The individual results, with Mustangs listed first, were: Larrabee (41) defeated Justin Murray (43); Dan Muther (55) fell to Justin Kervin (44); Zach Holman (61) lost to Ryan Dutil (46); Owen Freeman (59) lost to Mike Carpenter (42); Montana Maynard (59) lost to Josh Kervin (43); and Joel Poulin (69) lost to Mike Poulin (46).
