The eighth annual FUTURE MSAD 3 Golf Tournament, held Sept. 10 at the Country View Golf Club, raised $4,500 to benefit the campaign for Mount View athletic and recreational facilities.

Sixteen teams played in the event with Mike Lantz’s foursome earning the winning spot with a score of 12-under par. The winning foursome included Lantz of Monroe, Rick Gilman and Matt Gilman of Hudson and Greg Murray.

The Sterling Mulligans, Steve Pomerleau’s foursome, also shot 12-under par to tie for first. Pomerleau’s team included Carl Croft, Mike Ellis and Josh Ellis.

A putt-off determined first and second place.

Ed Nason’s team of Mark King, Jeff Larrabee and Colby Clendenning secured third.

Joseph’s Sporting Goods in Waterville offered a golf bag and clubs, at a $600 value, for a hole-in-one, but there was no winner to grab that prize.

A 50/50 raffle was won by Barry McCormick, who gave his portion back to FUTURE.

More than 50 prizes were donated to FUTURE MSAD 3 for their raffle drawing. Golfers were treated to an outdoor barbecue lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs, various salads, baked beans and lots of homemade desserts, all provided by FUTURE MSAD 3 board members and supporters.

All recent donated funds will go to the current athletic campaign for athletic facility projects and items not funded by public tax dollars.

FUTURE MSAD 3 is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) volunteer-led community organization. The group’s  mission is to raise funds to enhance particular areas in the new Mount View School complex not covered by state and local funding.
