Rosie Ella (Brassbridge) Rowell, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at a Rockland healthcare facility. Rosie was born in Frankfort May 28, 1928, the daughter of Clifford W. and Esther M. (Knowlton) Brassbridge.

Rosie was a lifelong resident of Frankfort. She worked for several years in local hatcheries before working in several shoe shops, from which she eventually retired. Rosie was a lifelong care taker; she cared for her mother, sister, and later on, her husband.

She had a fondness for small children and can be remembered babysitting for many family members. Rosie was a faithful and active member of the Frankfort Congregational Church. Rosie will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Rosie is survived by her sister, Edith Seekins of Belfast; her nephew, Lawrence Brassbridge and his wife Charlene of Frankfort, whom Rosie lived with for 10 wonderful years; and several other nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her parents; by her husband, Carleton, in 1987; four brothers, Lawrence, Sewall, Kenneth, and Arthur; and a sister, Gertrude Brassbridge.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, Sept. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., in Hampden. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. at Frankfort Congregational Church, Main Street in Frankfort, with Pastor Tim Hall officiating. Interment will be beside her husband at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery in Monroe.
