The regular season wound down for most Midcoast high school golf teams Tuesday, as a select one will prepare for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B shootout, set for Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Bath Country Club.

The lone Midcoast Class B squad to earn the right to participate in the league shootout will be Medomak Valley, which finished the regular season 8-2 and third in the conference. Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield and Maranacook of Readfield are the other three participating squads, with the overall team winner earning an automatic berth to the state team championships on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro.

The three remaining teams, along with others from throughout Class B, will participate in the KVAC state qualifier in hopes of earning a spot at state team championships. The qualifier will be Tuesday, Oct. 4, also at Natanis.

The state individual championships will be Saturday, Oct. 15 at Natanis.

During the regular season, Medomak Valley finished 8-2, Camden Hills and Oceanside 4-6 (Oceanside plays in KVAC Class A), Belfast 3-7 and Mount View 0-10.

Medomak Valley 7, Winslow 2 … At Vassalboro Sept. 27, the Panthers locked up their eighth win as they look to the postseason. Medomak Valley outshot Winslow by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 155 to 170. Panther Adam Lynch shot a 36 for nine holes as medalist.

The individual results, with Panthers listed first, were: Lynch (36, medalist) defeated Justin Murray (44); Isaac Greenrose (44) lost to Justin Kervin (38); Alex Greenrose (39) beat Ryan Dutil (43); Zack Judkins (40) upended Josh Kervin (47); John Wilcox (40) bested Jarrod Parrish (45); and Ryan Merrifield (51) lost to Mike Carpenter (47).

Camden Hills 9, Waterville 0 … At Waterville Sept. 27, the Windjammers picked up their fourth win of the season in their final match. The ‘Jammers outshot the Purple Panthers by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 165 to 217. Camden Hills’ Daulton Wickenden shot a 35 for nine holes to earn medalist. The freshman has been medalist in a handful of matches this fall.

The individual results, with Windjammers listed first, were: Wickenden (35, medalist) beat Jim Lavin (50); John Vannorsdall (43) beat Dylan Davis (58); Drew Long (47) beat Will Bolduc (50); James Zanca (43) beat Sam Wehry (64); Max Fischer (44) beat Lauren Hallenback (59); and Drew Holt (46) beat Molly Brown (68).

Maine Central Institute 9, Mount View 0 … At Pittsfield Sept. 27, the Huskies kept the Mustangs unbeaten on the year with a convincing victory. MCI had a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 176 to 220 for Mount View.

The individual results, with Mustangs listed first, were: Erik Larrabee (45) fell to Gavin Dougas (40, medalist); Dan Muther (58) lost to Trevor Kitchin (49); Zach Holman (54) lost to Dylan Watrous (49); Owen Freeman (68) lost to Cameron Neal (43); Joel Poulin (63) fell to Garth Stockwell (44); and Cay Outerbridge (88) lost to Brady Thies (69).

Camden Hills 7, Belfast 2 … At the Samoset Resort Golf Club Sept. 26, the Windjammers knocked off the visiting Lions. Camden Hills outshot Belfast by a four-shot total of 169 to 176. Lion Jamie Jackson shot 35 as the medalist on the day.

The individual results, with Windjammers listed first, were: Wickenden (36) lost to Jackson (35, medalist); Vannorsdall (44) fell to Tim Sticht (41); Long (46) defeated Tyler McDevitt (48); Miles Ingraham (48) upended Jack Smith (52); Fischer (46) defeated Logan Mitchell (52); and Zanca (43) defeated Allie Njaa (56).

In junior varsity action, Andrew Kyle (49) defeated Grant Starrett (55) and Drew Holt (49) defeated Ethan Campbell (71).

Medomak Valley 9, Waterville 0 … At the Rockland Golf Club Sept. 26, the Panthers prowled to their seventh win. Medomak Valley defeated Waterville by a four-golfer, stroke total of 162 to 213. Lynch shot a 36 for nine holes to earn medalist honors.

Maranacook 9, Mount View 0 … At the Country View Golf Club in Brooks Sept. 26, the Black Bears of Readfield showed why they are one of the top teams in Class B as the Mustangs stayed winless on the season. Maranacook outshot Mount View by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 168 to 216.

The individual results, with Mustangs listed first, were: Larrabee (38) lost to Luke Ruffing (34, medalist); Muther (59) fell to Cameron Brochu (42); Freeman (60) lost to Tucker Whitman (45); Montana Maynard (69) fell to Bailey Clark (48); Holman (59) fell to Tanner Webb (49); and Mert Dana (71) lost to Sykler Webb (47).
