The Islesboro coed soccer team has surged to a .500 record early in the season, including notching two recent victories in the process.

The Eagles are 3-3 (4.5788 points) and ninth in the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings for Western Class D, while Richmond (6-2-1, 28.1459 points) is first in the 11-team region. The top seven teams qualify for the playoffs.

Thus far this season, Islesboro beat Acadia Christian of Trenton 8-0 Sept. 13, lost to Chop Point of Woolwich 5-0 Sept. 16, lost to Greater Portland Christian of South Portland 7-1 Sept. 17, lost to Greater Portland Christian 5-2 Sept. 23, beat Highview Christian of Charleston 5-1 Sept. 26 and downed Acadia Christian 4-0 Sept. 28.

In Wednesday’s 4-0 win over the Acadia Seahawks, the Eagles got two goals from Charlie Cilley and one each from Autumn Johnson (her first career goal) and Branden Bourque. Ally Craig added an assist. Will Schoppe played in goal for the islanders.

On Sept. 26, host Islesboro beat Highview Christian 5-1, as Eleanor Snyder tallied two goals, Bourque a goal and two assists, Allana Govoni a goal and an assist and Cameron Jack a goal. For Highview, Gabe Philbrick creased the net.
