The Midcoast has experienced a soggy recent few days, which has forced high school athletic directors and administrators to put in overtime in an effort to shuffle postponed and rescheduled contests.

That has happened again Tuesday as the majority of the high school athletic events scheduled in Knox, Waldo and part of Lincoln counties have been washed out or had fields that were unplayable due to recent heavy rain.

When the dust finally settled, only the Mount View and Oceanside soccer games still are slated to be played Oct. 4. The Mariner girls will host the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. in Thomaston, while the Mustang boys will host the Mariners at 3:30 p.m. in Thorndike.

The following is a list of postponed varsity contests, with makeup dates listed, when known:

Boys boccer

Richmond at Vinalhaven to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.

Nokomis at Medomak Valley to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Camden Hills at Belfast to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Girls soccer

Richmond at Vinalhaven to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 12:30 p.m.

Deer Isle-Stonington at Searsport to Thursday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m.

Belfast at Camden Hills to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Medomak Valley at Nokomis to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Field hockey

Mount View at Maine Central Institute, which originally had been postponed from Oct. 1. At this point, there is no makeup date.

Nokomis at Camden Hills to Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Maranacook at Belfast to Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m.
