During the warmer, snow free months of the year, Winterport Dragway is alive and thundering with the sounds of racing at the facility. On Saturday, Oct. 8, as the coldness of fall seeps in, the gates at Winerport will open for the 10th annual Fall Car Show, Drag Race and Swap Meet.

Sponsored by Deb’s Variety and Tyler’s Hardware, the show and racing tech opens at 8 a.m. Car show registration runs 8 to 11 a.m. with show judging 9 a.m. to noon. Awards will be given at 2 p.m.

The day also will be Campout Weekend five with Gassah Guys Nostalgia Reunion in a flag start. Also scheduled is the Hot Rod Lawnmower Shootout, ATV/Quad Challenge, Bikes and Sleds Shootout and Darling’s Ford Gamblers Race Points Series Race #6.

Time trials will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Eliminations will start at 12:30 p.m.

The car show entry fee is $5 for the driver and the car being entered in the show. An additional $5 admission fee will be for the first passenger in each car show entry. The fee for a tech card is $10.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, regular bracket racing continues in the final day of points competition.
